Research

Is the backbone of Lilly

Lilly Research Laboratories (LRL) discover and develop high-quality innovative medicines that help people live longer, healthier, happier lives. This is done in a reliable and cost-effective manner and in an atmosphere of optimism, teamwork, quality and compliance.

Since 2002, Lilly has registered all Lilly-sponsored Phase II, III, & IV clinical studies (conducted anywhere in the world initiated after October 15, 2002) on www.clinicaltrials.gov. Additionally, Lilly began registering all Phase I clinical studies commencing on or after October 1, 2010.

Our investment in research and development has been sustained at a high level over many years, creating a robust pipeline with a wide variety of potential medicines currently in development.

"Research is the Heart of the Business, the Soul of the Enterprise."
Mr. Eli Lilly, Grandson of Lilly's founder Colonel Eli Lilly

We bring this same determination to our work today, uniting our expertise with the creativity of research partners across the globe to keep finding ways to make life better. This determination starts in the Lilly Research Laboratories (LRL), where more than 7,000 Lilly employees in over 50 countries work to discover new medicines that will help solve our world’s greatest health challenges. Lilly remains committed to clinical research in Australia, with local investments in excess of $10 million every year over the last decade.
